The under pelt is so thick you can't part it enough to see the skin. He is an inside cat but still gets his Advantage Purple once a month for prevention. There are many dogs in the area that roam loose so fleas can come in from the dog activity outside. I like the ability to apply Advantage topically and Oscar tolerates it very well. I have read reviews where professional animal care providers say that Advantage is the best topical flea medication available. We get it through Amazon for far less than what the vet charges plus it's delivered right to our door. No more out of my way trips to the vet!and complete flea control.

Kills the fleas. Killed off the fleas but it makes my adult cat sick for several hours. She can't stand to be touched pants excessively and drools a bit.One month later after application there are new fleas in my home. This may be a transference from me going outside or from her. I can't really tell.The product does kill and keep the fleas off my adult cat age 5. I hear that side effects are normal with chemicals. I wish there was a way to not introduce chemicals into her systems and keep the fleas off her and out of the home.
Product still has not arrived so I cannot rate it. The company sent a package in about a week however it wasn't what I had ordered. They were nice about it and mailed me a call tag so I could return the wrong product. I did so but have not received the correct item yet.

PURE BORIC ACID One customer on here commented that this was borax evidently he/she cannot read and knows nothing of chemistry. This is 100% Boric Acid not Borax these are different however Borax can be made into Boric Acid using sulphuric acid but it is not the same. Also this is not a preventative measure but it actually kills bugs thru their digestion and exoskeleton. The bugs carry it back to their nests where they all share and die. Gotta have it if you have a flea problem works as good as flea buster at a fraction of the price. took only a few weeks to kill all the fleas in a badly infested appartment in so cal. noticible reduction in fleas after only a few days. used with a flea trap to monitor number of fleas. after 5 weeks no fleas at all.
OK but could use better instructions I'm fairly certain that Synergy First Defense has contributed to almost solving our household flea problem. I had already treated our two cats with Frontline Plus and thoroughly vacuumed our rugs and carpets every day for over a week before finally buying First Defense. We had already seen a marked improvement though not total decline in flea activity. It seems that First Defense may be helping.I would probably give this product 4 stars if it had better instructions. My main problem with instructions is that they were unclear as to how long to leave the powder in the carpets and rugs. They were clear about making certain that children and pets are not present while treating floors and carpets but did not specify when you could reintroduce pets and children. They also did not indicate for how long you should leave the powder in the carpets and rugs. I left the powder in the treated areas overnight before vacuuming. Despite keeping my cats away from the treated rooms and vacuuming the rugs and carpets they may have ingested some of the product. It may have been a coincidence but my cats threw up the next couple of days so I'm now a little concerned about treating with First Defense again.
Are you kidding me!?! Are you kidding me! I have no review on this product well because I don't even have it! It's been almost 2 months and I haven't even got it yet. Is there no contact number for Amazon? This is ridiculous and all the while my kitties are suffering if you don't have it in stock don't advertise that you do.

Best Flea Control We had a very large flea problem at our house due to feral cats in the area. I used Frontline for the longest time and fleas were still attracted to my poor dog. I finally found Advantage and never saw a flea on him again.

Works just like it should! Up until last summer I had never used advantage. I was a frontline person. Last year the fleas were so bad frontline wouldnt give any type of relief at all! I switched to advantage around may last year and never looked back. This year the fleas are going to be even worse. I ordered this and had to give lots of baths until it got here. I put this on my dogs and cats last night before bed. One of my cats slept on the couch..this morning its covered in dead fleas. Same with the dog cages and unfortunately my bed as that is where another cat slept. I have lots of vaccuming and laundry to do but the FLEAS ARE DEAD!!!! yay! Use this stuff.

disappointing This product doesn't really do much. It is more of a pleasant dog scent than anything that kills or drives off fleas. Has the strong aroma of cloves but seems to have no lasting affect.

Good stuff I bought the 32 oz. one originally and used it during flea season. You can spray on the dog and surfaces and it doesn't use anything that could harm a dog. The smell is kind of like potpourri. I wish the price was proportionate as this 8 oz is almost the same price as the 32 oz.
ok i guess This didn't really work on my pet and I hate the way it smells! It is probally ok to use this in combination with a bunch of other flea killers. My dog had fleas and we used this advantage the flea shampoo nylar vacuum powder and they came and exterminated.
Strong smell but better than chemical scents! This spray smells of cloves and spice. It's great for knocking out my dog's stink on his thick coat. However my dog seems to itch after application and I noticed there is a sudsy effect upon spraying his coat. I don't care for the sudsy feel but the scent is nice and pleasant although strong! I give him a monthly flea and heart tablet so I can't comment on its effectiveness for fleas or ticks. I use this mainly to destink him between baths.
Cat approved I am all for 100% natural and when our kitty came up with fleas combing was just not enough. I ordered this and was pleased to see our Augustus did not reject and run. It still takes a constant effort and I did not saturate to skin as directed.I did a heavy spray onto tissue and wiped on flea comb. It does kill fleas that I take off comb onto tissues with product. I did place a bit at neck nape and in back near his tail. I would recommend product to a finicky pet lover looking for a natural option. It does have a fresh clove smell.

Kills fleas on contactmostly If I'm combing the dog or cat and there is a flea on the comb I can squirt it and the flea is dead within 5 to 10 seconds. But it only seems to work if the spray comes into contact with the fleas it isn't much of a preventative. On the thickest part of our beagle's coat he needs to be saturated with the spray and have it rubbed in and the effect seems to fade as it dries but the oily texture of his fur doesn't fade as quickly unfortunately.The smell is great and I certainly feel better about using an allnatural product but this isn't a longterm solution. This is an oh dear lord that's a flea kill it! instant fix but we still have fleas and are going the FrontlineCapstarfleapowderonallsoftsurfaces route.

Amazing Fleas are a nightmare but this is the stuff GOOD dreams are made of. It's sort of a pain to brush it into the carpet but it's so effective that it makes the effort worth it. It doesn't affect the animals nor did it bother me at all.
You have to use it right for it to work Sprinkle it on the carpet rake or broom it in try not to vacumn too much at all wait 3 days then vacumn it up with the dead fleas. We were vacumning the excess up too much and it didn't work.
Better Instructions Would Have Been Nice We had a flea problem even though we don't have pets Did some online research and wound up buying Fleabusters Rx for Fleas Plus.
Excellent results My wife and tried a couple of different products but this one by far worked the best.no more fleas! I would highly recommend this product.
Darn!! I think I bought the wrong flea treatment bought Flea Busters when I should have purchased Flea Stoppers. Made two heavy applications of the product in a fairly small area 10x10 and 10x8 and STILL have the itchy critters in the carpet did okay just thought it would do better. Calling a professional today.
Miracle product!! My 4 month old 2 pound puppy was riddled with fleas flea baths Capstar Advantage flea bombs flea powders flea sprays washing sheets/bedding constant vacuuming and cleaning etc. didn't work for us. They were still everywhere fleas were driving us crazy I finally took a chance on this product as a last resort and it has been a freaking MIRACLE!! We went from pulling about 2040 fleas off our puppy a day to maybe 1 or 2 a day. We noticed a difference the NEXT DAY.
Flea Busters RX For Fleas Plus! This is the ONLY product out there that i know that works on fleas inside the home they just disappear! Inside and on my 2 cats we did use advantage but one application was that was needed! If you really want to get rid of the fleas this is the only way I know of and I have done extensive research and purchased many products that did not work.
I don't think this worked in my house I put this down meticulously all over the floors and I'm not sure that it worked in my house. I ended up throwing away my dog's bed and using Raid chemicals on the floors and now we have no fleas. Plus this stuff is hard to put down and the powder gets everywhere. You have to wear a mask or put a scarf around your face like I did and it turn off the air flow in your house while you treat the carpets which was very hot in Alabama in May when I put this stuff down. Good luck if you purchase this! I'm not sure it's worth the money.
This stuff WORKS Literally suffering from a flea invasion in my fully carpeted apartment I sought everything and anything I thought could possibly help stop them in their tracks. I decided to try this stuff out of desperation and IT WORKS. It takes a little while to apply if you really do it right and trust me its worth it but since the day I treated my carpets I haven't been bitten and I haven't seen a single flea on the carpeting. I was still pulling one or two off of my cat for a couple weeks afterwards but nowhere near what it was like before 2030 fleas a day!.
Possibly useless for wooden floors. It's hard to rate this product fairly but I don't believe I've had any luck with it.Why don't I know if I've had any luck? Because I still see fleas two weeks after using it. Maybe I'm seeing less fleas than I would if I hadn't used it and maybe I'm seeing the exact same amount of fleas I would have seen if I hadn't used it. I just don't know because as most of you have probably experienced I'm trying tons of things to get rid of the fleas. My cats have been treated I've had flea traps I've used this FleaBusters I vacuum frequently wash clothes all the time but it's been pretty depressing that this product was what I was hoping would finally rid us of them and after the first week of use I actually found even more.Wearing white socks around the home is an easy way to attract them onto you so you can know whether or not they're still there. Great Flea and Mite Killer I bought this so I could spray a house that was infested with fleas and mites. The health care aid who worked in the basement complained to me that every time she went to do the laundry she itched like crazy. I also felt itchy when I walked into the basement. The effect of having stray cats who carried mites and fleas going in the basement because of an open door left the basement infested. I could see the fleas on the clothes of the patient. Permethrin definitely works and is the main ingredient of this flea killer spray. I bought a fogger and sprayed the basement twice using a mask over my face until a dense fog set in. Then I left the area and let it settle. Now no one complains about having this itchy skin when they go into the basement or any other part of the house. I highly recommend this spray to get rid of fleas and mites.
Works great! I was having flea problems after visiting a friends house. I had over 30+ bites within 24hrs and caught on/about 15 fleas within a 2 day period. I tried the powdered stuff from Petco but it was way too messy and wasn't really that effective as I hoped caught another 5 fleas that night.On the 3rd day I got fed up due to the lack of sleep and paranoia of getting bit again. I went to Home Depot and purchased this. I shook the contents inserted the spray hose and started spraying in a sweeping motion over the carpet. You might want to hold your breath while spraying since you aren't supposed to inhale this stuff and wear gloves pants and shoes to avoid any skin contact. After the vapor dissipates there is no smell and dries in a warm day on/about 30 minutes which is nice! You can stay home during the drying process which is great! After that you can freely walk around regularly without shoes as long as it is dry. I tested my legs again that night using it as bait at the computer room where I caught the most fleas and checked it regularly.
Good product I used this last season when the fleas were unmerciful. It did well however this year I am using a more natural less toxic smelling flea repellant that seems to do the trick. I have a little one at home and do not want to use harsh chemicals.

Absolute BEST insecticide I have been using this product for over 13 years. I do not have dogs or cats but I had a terrible problem with what people call 'noseeums' tiny insects that bite and you can't see them. Nope Not only did this not show up on time at all but it doesn't work at all. Very not pleased but now I found some stuff that did work and all is well for me but the product not good at all.
Safe &t Effective for Goats as well as dogs cats & horses Years ago I used to regularly purchase this product thu my vet for my dogs and cats when they got fleas. I hadn't used it in years due to the ease of the once a month flea drops available thru Veterinarians.
Die Fleas! Hands down this is the best spray that I have ever used for fleas on my dogs. I apply as directedFirst the neck down back to the tail then down legs to feet. As soon as you spray you immediately see fleas jump off to die! You can use the spray once a week but I usually spray once a month. I used to be able to find this spray at Walmart but not anymore so Thanks to Amazon I was able to order some.
never again! First of all the bottle leaked all over the inside of the carton. There wasn't much left when I got it.Secondly I found it only effective for making my cats foam at the mouth and be highly irrated with me. It didn't stay on their coats/skin long enough to kill at thing other than their appreciation of me.I tried a bit on the sofa in an inconsicuous area thankfully.I'm back to good ol' fashioned borax for carpet and upolstery flea treatments. Much more effective and lots safer.
Best stuff out there After many years at our house with a cat and a dog we never once had fleas. Then we moved to a new house and all of a sudden I couldn't walk 3 feet without getting 89 fleas jumping at my legs! The solution? The good ol' flea bomb. However after 3 heavy duty vacuumings one lasted for 2 and a half hours for a single room 2 flea bombs and a topical flea treatments for the animals we still had fleas within a week!I bought one bottle of this Ovitrol spray sprayed it on various places around the house and haven't seen a flea since. Most of our floors are hardwood and so it was easy to find the target areas to spray the areas where the flea bombs apparently missed. From what I can tell the spray basically contains the same stuff most flea bombs do but in an easy to target spray form.I will say that this stuff does have a strong rubbing alcohol smell to it so make sure you use it in a ventilated area. Other than that there are no complaints to be said.
Finally my dog and cat have relief We never had fleas on our pets until we moved into a new house where the former residents had dogs. The fleas have gotten way out of control since summer began. Both animals have always been on Frontline but it was not effective against the huge infestation in our carpeted areas and furniture. We are in the now in the middle of a giant eradication project pets house and yard.I bought this product and it showed up within just a few days. Today I tried it on them for the first time. I put the cat on a towel in the middle of the kitchen floor and sprayed the her first. She didn't like the spray so I put on latex gloves and sprayed my fingers and then worked my fingers through her fur all over her body. The dog ended up being treated with the same method. I then ran a comb through their fur and pulled off tons of dead and dying fleas. If any live fleas dropped on the towel I sprayed them immediately and they quit moving within seconds.By the time I had finished the dog the cat had attempted to groom her coat. She stopped after just a few seconds. Then she started drooling and foaming at the mouth. This eventually stopped and she's back to acting normal.This product is worth it's weight in gold. And these days that's a lot.
Orvitrol Plus Spray I must say this product Ovitrol Plus FleaTick & Bot Spray 16Oz Trigger Spray is great! Oh my goodness how well it works on fleas. Fleas hate this product with a passion. I will never go without having this product for my pet especially in the summer months. I know it works wonderfully. And you don't have to use a lot of it just aim and rub it in on your pets coat and they are good to go outside anywhere. Make sure you have this to spray on your carpets also.
just did not work for me i have put this stuff on my cat a number of times. she still has fleas and now so does the house. before this i never saw any fleas. since i sprayed the cat and rubbed the spray on the cat and sprayed the cat again they are everywhere. they are jumping off of her and NOT dying. the ones that i do catch trying to get off of her face i have put on a towel and sprayed directly. if you dont spray them at least twice to really soak the towel they are on they just jump off and wind up in the house. i have already used half the bottle and she still has fleas. with all of the good reviews i was really excited about the product. maybe i just got a bad batch i dont know but for $16.00 i wont try it again.
it works when nothing else will
Seems working for a few days I only used it once on my dogs and it seemed working for a few days. However I'm skeptical about its safety since the dogs like to lick themselves when they're wet. So I guess I'll only use it for spraying their beds and the house.
