DANGEROUS product I don't understand these reviews. Read the reviews for Certifect for Dogs 4588 lbs 6 month supply to get true stories about this toxic substance. First of all the smell practically knocks you out when you apply it. And there's a LOT of product in the vial for a toysized dog. At my vet's suggestion I used this on my 6pound Pomeranian and he's been lethargic for 19 hours. He can't raise his hind legs enough to scratch himself. Yesterday he ate twice as much as usual and I think this is because Certifect messes with blood sugar levels. I called my vet and she said if he's still like this in 24 hours to bring him in. I'm really worried my 19month old pup is acting like a 15yearold grandpa. I washed it off my dog will never use this poison again.
works well I give 4 starts bc I think the instructions should advise you to attempt to hold your dog very still for about 5 minutes after application.
Better than frontline! We live on a few acres surrounded by woods on one side and corn/soybean fields on the other. Fleas are such a nuisance here! We were using frontline which was helping but 3 weeks after treatment the fleas were reattaching to my dogs and it wasn't safe to add more topical for another 710 days. I was so fed up so I asked my vet if there was anything else I could use and she suggested Certifect. We started using it 2 months ago and haven't seen a flee since! My neighbor is still having flee issues and has decided to Switch to this product too. If you live in an area with a flea epidemic I highly recommend this product.
Adverse effects won't be using this again Within 24 hours of using this on my 15 pound Poms 12 yr old male and 6 yr old female both dogs were having trouble walking going up and down stairs and maintaining balance. Both were not eating and very lethargic. On the advice of my vet both were bathed with Dawn soap. 6 hours later my female was doing a little better but still stumbling on stairs my older male dog was still having trouble walking. Took them to the vet and both got a steroid injection. 4 days later both are doing well. I've called Merial to make an adverse effects report. The tech I talked to said the hadn't heard of this type of reaction but they'll are refund the purchase price when I send them the remaining vials.
Good Stuff We inherited a dumped dog and took to him to the vet to get him checked out. We were concerned about his fleas and tics which virtually filled each ear and the doc put this stuff on him. We made sure the kids did not pet him for 4 hours. The next day all of his tics had dried up and fallen off and we have not seen a flea or tic since. I would highly recommend this product. Our dog is 20 pounds.

So far so good but So far so good I guess. It's day 3 well tonight makes it the third day and she still itches but not as much. So I'd say I will continue to use her flea powder. I will keep and eye on her and see how it does and try to come back and edit my review.
Flea treatment I bought this product for 3 of my dogs. They are all 3 different weight. The smallest one with a lot of hair seemed to work so far been 2 weeks. For my middle dog she is itching a lot still but i dont see any fleas it could be an allergy from the treatment. For my biggest dog is the same as my middle dog. I gave it 4 stars as it seems to work better than any of the other products.
Advantix Customer Service Rocks! Fleas have been really bad in FL this year. Our 90 lb lab mix had them bad and we tried several other cheaper products with no success. We are a 1 income family and have to watch ever penny so I was reluctant to spend so much moneybut nothing else worked so we ordered a 4 pack of Advantix II.The first application worked amazingly well! Within a few hours the fleas were dying and the next day he was flea free. We then treated the house as well with sprays and foggers. But 3 weeks later we saw more fleas and treated him again. The second application only seemed to work for a week and the 3rd and 4th seemed to have no affect at all. I was very disappointed my dog was still miserable and infested with fleas and I was out $50.I called Bayer/Advantix customer service explained the situation and they offered to send me another 4 pack at no extra chargeall I had to do was fax them proof of purchase.
THIS STUFF WORKS !!! I bought this Bayer k9 Advantix just over a month ago and I must say this stuff WORKS !!! I live in a rural area of town next to a large grass pasture that is loaded with ticks. Everytime our Lab would wonder out into the high grass she would get attacked by ticks. Nothing seemed to work until a friend said Advantix works. Even though I was skeptical I gave it a try.
On time Not much to say about this. The package came right on time and held the four month supply.
Ticks Ew!! Tick season is upon us and here in the midwest this season is bad! My dog's vet mentioned tick season was bad this year but I didn't realize it until I found a tick on my dog. Keep in mind I live in Chicago. My dog doesn't go hiking anywhere. Crazy! Got this stuff and now he's fine. He has sensitive skin but this doesn't seem to affect his skin.
This Product Works For My Doggies Since Frontline stopped working for my doggies I switched to Advantix II which does work. I hope the fleas in my region don't evolve immunity to this product as they appear to have to the Frontline. So far so good.
Do not buy this product for tick control! Do not buy this if your looking for reliable tick control. I tried K9 Advantix II for two months on my dog. She is 59 pounds and I used the product for dogs +55 lbs. K9 Advantix II does NOT work. Just three days after applying closely following the directions several ticks were found on/in my dog. She now has anaplasmosis similar to Lymes disease and I can't help but wonder if this product had performed as advertised if it would have been avoided. Very disappointed and will never purchase this again.
Really works I have used this product now for a second season. I know it works on my 2 dogs so I would recommend it.

However this product seems to get rides of flea but my 95 lb yellow lab got sick using it. the first time he vomited and the third time he stop eating and looks sick and tired. I won't be using the remaining does and already ordered Frontline Plus to see if that is better for my dog.

Made my dog sick I bought three doses so I tried it on my 23 pound mixed breed terrier for three months. Each month she didn't act like herself for three days. She was jittery had loose stools and the product was very oily on her coat. It finally turned to a white powder but it took until the third day for the oil to disappear. I followed the directions exactly. I have been using Frontline products for nine years but will not use Certifect again.

After reading online that many people recommended the Hartz Flea & Tick Spray for HOME to use on the ground and even on the fronds of our sagos to kill the scale we've done it for years and it has been very successful. Only thing is that you have to keep it up year after year but when you consider the cost of a new mature sago could be thousands of dollars for ones the sizes of ours then this spray is affordable compared to the cost of replacement plus the scale will always return if it is in your area because it travels with the wind from plant to plant.If you plan to use this on your sagos be sure to get the one labeled for Home. The one labeled for Dogs is too strong and could kill your plant.
I use it alot! i have two outside pens for my dog to use. i spray this product on her rugs and anywhere else in both pens to keep the ants and fleas away. i have not seen fleas around so far but the ants are always trying to be a pest. it keeps the ants away. the product is wrapped tightly in strong plastic to prevent any problems during shipping.
For limited use it works well First I will acknowledge that this isn't for everyone and it does smell. It is a pesticide and yes they can cause serious harm. But it also kills fleas which for some of us may cause more harm. I really can't stand living with fleas. My body reacts strongly to flea bites in an allergic way and one bite can prevent me from getting a good night sleep for about a week by the way Benedryl liquid and fire ant sting first aid gel really helps. My cat brought the fleas in the house even though he was taking Advantage. At first the fleas left me alone because they seem to only love the Cat. But after the cat past away possibly from to a fleaborn illness I became their main target and they were out for blood. I tried foggers and even flea traps. The treatments reduced the fleas but still those buggers exist. That is when I went to a combination of insect repellant on my skin and Hartz home spray on my clothes. Yes I know it says keep it off your clothes but once I sprayed my shoes and pant legs with this stuff and myself with deet insect repellant the fleas stayed off my skin but contacted the clothes and died.
Packaging/Shipping This product was shipped in a soft envelope. When I retrieved it from the mailbox it was soaking wet not because it had rained but because the product had busted open and leaked eveywhere. The product does not have a pleasant smell therefore the chemical odor was very strong. I believe the product will work just not a great experience thus far.
Didn't Work for Me Didn't work much at all. Bad smell too. What frustrated me the worse is that when you get close to the bottom the spray doesn't pull the stuff up. Waste of money.
Been using this on pet's bed So far I don't see any flea or side effects on my pet and we always spray on the floormats too. So it's good so far.
A Nightmare & The Destroyer Of Worlds There isn't enough vocabulary in the language to encompass all of the bad things I could say about this product & my life changed for the worse & is totally different today because I used it.My first suggestion to people is DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT if you have an AUTOIMMUNE CONDITION of any kind eg. allergies asthma fibromyalgia arthritis susceptible immune system etc. If you are AT ALL SENSITIVE TO CHEMICALS do yourself a favor & give this stuff a miss. I wish I had. I saw it on a local store shelf & because it was mass marketed to the general public I assumed it was safe to use. And it can't be as bad as calling an exterminator right? I manage CFIDS & after I used this stuff in my apartment my CFIDS related conditions went *haywire* for a very long time.Back in Oct.
Works GOOD Smells BAD This product is excellent for managing fleas and ticks in the home it knocks them DEAD. The only reason I still use this product is because it WORKS. Other than the fact that it works great this product STINKS it smells like outdoor wasp spray.

Good Flea Control I've been using this product on my two cats and it works great!! Very rarely is there a reoccurance of fleas. One of my cats is indoor/outdoor and the other is mostly indoor although she likes going on the patio for 1015 minutes at a time.
Flea Control If you do nothing else for your cat please see that fleas are kept under control. This product is usually sold at veterinarian's offices. Safe if used as directed .I have found the treatment lasts longer than a month. I treat about three times a year. More expensive than flea treatments sold at your typical grocery storebut safer and more reliable.
Worked on one but not the other It worked on one kitty but for the other I had to go back to the vet and just suck it up an get Revolution. Revolution works for a lot of other parasites too and it doesn't go on as sticky as the Advantage does. Save your time and money and just get the prescription stuff before your house becomes infested.
Got them FINALLY! Ordered on the the 15 received on the 23. Next time I plan to go to the store. Got two arrival dates??? Good news is the product workedno fleas.
Good price for this product We were having difficulty finding this brand of cat flea control where we live and the prices were pretty steep at the local stores. My husband had confidence with this brand and didn't want to experiment with other products. Arrived ahead of schedule and the price point is acceptable.
advantage 2 for cats Decided to try Advantage 2 against Frontline Plus. Last round of Front. Plus did not work. Waited the month then applied the Advantage. Worked really well. Cats were pretty ate up so we dosed them with a Capstar and then followed up with the Advantage. Worked great. Even with a little flare up of fleas in the carpet of the cats room the cats never got reinfested. I am very happy with the Advantage.
Used this on two of my cats I give this product 1 star because when I applied this product to one of my cats it made him convulse and vomit almost immediately. It did not do any lasting damage to him that I can tell and he recovered fairly quickly but it was very frightening and as many other people have had this problem I would not recommend this product google it if you want to see other horror stories. My other cat who I put this on reacted fine as have other pets that I have used this on in the past but because of the one bad experience I will not use this product again.
Works great on my kittys This is extremely effective and does not cause any adverse allergic reactions biting hair off tail etc for my catsand best of all keeps the fleas dead where I like them.
Bayer Advantage II Bayer Advantage is a great product. Our cats are void of all insect pests. Application is easy and straight forward.
Great results! This product works better than any other flea deterrents for my dog and cat. Used frontline plus for years and it just wasn't keeping the population contained effectively. Advantage II does.

Gotta have it if you have a flea problem works as good as flea buster at a fraction of the price. took only a few weeks to kill all the fleas in a badly infested appartment in so cal. noticible reduction in fleas after only a few days. used with a flea trap to monitor number of fleas. after 5 weeks no fleas at all.
OK but could use better instructions I'm fairly certain that Synergy First Defense has contributed to almost solving our household flea problem. I had already treated our two cats with Frontline Plus and thoroughly vacuumed our rugs and carpets every day for over a week before finally buying First Defense. We had already seen a marked improvement though not total decline in flea activity. It seems that First Defense may be helping.I would probably give this product 4 stars if it had better instructions. My main problem with instructions is that they were unclear as to how long to leave the powder in the carpets and rugs. They were clear about making certain that children and pets are not present while treating floors and carpets but did not specify when you could reintroduce pets and children. They also did not indicate for how long you should leave the powder in the carpets and rugs. I left the powder in the treated areas overnight before vacuuming. Despite keeping my cats away from the treated rooms and vacuuming the rugs and carpets they may have ingested some of the product. It may have been a coincidence but my cats threw up the next couple of days so I'm now a little concerned about treating with First Defense again.
Are you kidding me!?! Are you kidding me! I have no review on this product well because I don't even have it! It's been almost 2 months and I haven't even got it yet. Is there no contact number for Amazon? This is ridiculous and all the while my kitties are suffering if you don't have it in stock don't advertise that you do.

Seems to work I bought this when my two cats got an infestation. I gave them capstar and then Frontline the next day. I used this product to spray down the places they like to hang out in and on as well as carpeting and furniture. I also washed all rugs bedding blankets ets. Now it is 3 weeks later and the cats are again having a reinfestation but I did not see any fleas on the areas I had used this spray on.
